The DAX or DAX 30 (Deutshce Aktien Index) is the German Stock Index and began on 30th December 1987 with a base value of 1,000.

It’s made up of the 30 major German companies trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Due to its small selection of German Companies it doesn’t necessarily represent the health of the German economy as whole.

The index hit it’s all time high on 23rd January 2015 at a price of 13,596.89.
